The Story of Physio Further.

Physio in Midlothian

Compassion and Knowledge are Key.

Simon’s journey to this point has been long, challenging, and ultimately transformative. After many years of chronic illness, periods of recovery, and unexpected relapses, he arrived at the vision that would become Physio Further.

In 2016, Simon was diagnosed with post‑viral Epstein–Barr, beginning a ten‑year exploration into what it truly takes to regain lasting health. Through both personal experience and academic study, he noticed a consistent pattern: the people who recovered best were those who addressed every aspect of their wellbeing, but most people have no idea where to start. Physical health, emotional balance, lifestyle, and environment all play essential roles.

This understanding became the foundation of Physio Further. Simon knows firsthand that people are not defined by their conditions, and that health challenges are often far more complex than they appear, and appear to others. His approach reflects this and is grounded in compassion and lived experience.

Simon holds a Master’s degree in Physiotherapy and an Honours degree in Exercise Science. He has many years of experience working in different areas of the NHS, in private practice, and gained extensive knowledge through personal and academic study. He has developed a broad and nuanced understanding of physiotherapy and long‑term health conditions.

He lives in Roslin with his wife and son, enjoying life with — thankfully — not too many worries.
